School Safety Cooperative
Description:
The School Safety Cooperative is designed to provide ongoing professional development and technical assistance for district law enforcement, school resource officers, and school administrators responsible for school safety.
Problem Solving Solutions:
The school safety commitment provides the opportunity for all school system staff to engage in professional development offerings related to school safety, behavior threat assessment, and school law enforcement. School systems realize a cost savings of approximately $415 per staff member that attend ESC 20 professional development sessions and events when compared to external vendors. Services for 2026-2027 will include no cost Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) approved training offerings, no cost attendance at the annual ESC 20 School Safety Conference, and crisis scenario simulator training opportunities at significantly reduced costs. Additional training sessions are also available for commitment members at free or reduced cost throughout the school year.
The Definitive Choice:
The school safety commitment is the definitive choice for school systems to receive wrap around school safety services, technical assistance, and professional development for an unlimited number of staff members without the high cost of bringing in individual industry speakers and vendors.
